The congress will cover all the aspects such as Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery (dealing with skull and face deformities either birth or acquired and tumors) and Facial Plastic surgery with special focus on newer methods of face lifting, nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) and eye rejuvenation. Breast and body contouring surgery will focus on safety of Breast implants, breast reconstruction methods and its psychological benefits when it’s performed primarily and updated technologies such as 4th Generation Vaser, Plasma guided Radiofrequency for the use in Body contouring.”
Speaking about the latest trends in Plastic Surgery, Dr. Sanjay said, “Plastic surgeons have developed a Step ladder system of managing various problems, starting always by looking at Noninvasive or minimal invasive method of treatments be it laser treatment for face or even the newer Plasma Skin Regeneration (PSR) technology which uses energy delivered from plasma in millisecond pulses. Regenerative medicine is the newer application in the field of Plastic surgery where special cells are derived from body fat or bone marrow and is used for the process of replacing, engineering or regenerating tissues to restore body form and function. Its applications are widely being used in breast reconstruction, wound management and also facial treatments.”
While commenting on how plastic surgery is helping patients with diverse needs, Dr. Sanjay added, “There is still a large population of people who are concerned with their body images either due to weight gain or aging mechanism and we witnessed many treatment advances in this area. Technologies to bust fat cells externally and internally have developed rapidly but liposuction still remains the gold standard in body contouring because of its efficiency and effectiveness and the newer advances are making it safer. Antiaging procedures for face are developing more towards noninvasive and minimal invasive methods such as botulinum injections, hyaluronic based injectables, laser, radio frequency and ultrasonic devices.”
