Build Back Better is the slogan that the UN Secretary General has announced for the world post COVID-19, and this is exactly what Arabia CSR Network is working to achieve. The Arabia CSR Network is celebrating 13 years of its Arabia CSR Awards, which is the premiere sustainability platform in the Middle East and North Africa Region. The Awards are widely acknowledged for applying the most stringent and comprehensive international standards such as the Ten principles of the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative, the European Model for Quality Management (EFQM) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its application criteria. Coupled with the support of UNEP and the League of Arab States, it has earned the prestige as the ‘Green Oscars of the Middle East’, which is indicative of the strength and reach of the Arabia CSR Awards in the Region.
The Arabia CSR Awards is a home-grown platform that recognises and honours organisations in the Arab Region that demonstrate outstanding leadership and commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Since the inception in 2008, the Arabia CSR Network has received 1,219 applications from 1,162 organisations, representing 43 sectors from 14 countries in the Arab Region. The Awards span 13 categories – Public Sector, Large, Medium, Small, Energy, Financial Services, Social Enterprise, Construction, Hospitality, Healthcare, New Business and Partnerships & Collaborations, and this year the new addition to the category was ‘Automotive Industry’.
The unveiling of this year’s winners will take place on 6th October 2020 in Dubai under the patronage of H.E Engineer, Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Department. The annual awarding ceremony has the tradition of convening business and corporate leaders, public officials, subject matter experts and thought leaders from around the globe. High profile delegates include international, regional and local dignitaries, VIPs, Sponsors, Jury Panel, leading businesses and other special guests. The event attracts a high level of attention regionally, via the media channels, social media platforms and supporters, sponsors and partners. Moreover, the ceremony is externally verified by one of the world’s most reputed providers of business assurance, DNV.GL. The awarding ceremony will also be a carbon neutral event, courtesy by FARNEK.
“We consistently strive to enhance CSR and Sustainability in the Arab Region by recognising and felicitating the best practices of the participating and winning entities. What we hope in return is the adoption and innovation of these practices by businesses around the region”, said Mrs. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, President & CEO of Arabia CSR Network.
The Awards promote entities that demonstrate the utmost commitment to CSR and Sustainability in the MENA Region and with that focus, Arabia CSR Network is open to welcome sponsors and partners that are equally dedicated to scale the sustainable growth and development in the Region. The Network is keen to make a positive change through extensive partnerships for a sustainable future with organisations across size, geography, sector and affiliation. We truly believe that together we can make a difference. The opportunity to Sponsor the prestigious Arabia CSR Awards Ceremony 2020 is still available and offers an array of benefits including extensive pre and post-event media coverage as well as on-site branding. The Arabia CSR Network also offers certified trainings and workshops on CSR and Sustainability, Advisory, Research and External Assurance Services and is the first GRI Certified Trainer in the Arab World as well.
