Serving classic favorites from India’s coastal states, Zafran Indian Bistro’s new seasonal menu, Coastal Chronicles, transports you to this diverse region and celebrates its rich culinary heritage.
Flavorful and local to the region, ingredients like peppercorn, mustard, chilies, and coconut are married with fresh seafood, succulent meats, and seasonal vegetables to create a memorable, indulgent dining experience.
Curated by Zafran’s Brand chef, Chef Sajeev Chellatu, the menu includes delectable starters such as Mahi Samudri Tikki - fish cakes flavoured with ginger, curry leaves and chef’s special spice mix, and Murgh Dakshin, which is deep fried marinated chicken sauteed with garlic and curry leaves.
The main courses include a homestyle version of classic curries such as the Lamb Vindaloo with potatoes cooked with vinegar in spicy sauce, Bengali fish curry and Goan green chicken curry, cooked in coriander and coconut paste.
A must-try for seafood lovers is the Grilled Black Pepper and Curry Leaf Prawns, marinated in lemon, garlic, and black pepper, whilst meat eaters are certain to relish the Cochin Mutton Masala, with distinct flavours that will transport you to a houseboat in the Kerala backwaters.
No Indian restaurant menu is complete without a biryani and the Chicken Ghee Roast biryani featuring on the coastal menu is a wonderful ode to this authentic Mangalorean dish.
