OMEGA’s Olympic Games Ad Reaches 50 Million Views

Within its first two weeks on YouTube, OMEGA’s inspiring Olympic Games commercial for Tokyo 2020 has now been viewed more than 50 million times. Along with almost 1000 comments and 22,000 “Likes” from sports fans across the world, the 60-second ad has clearly captured the imagination of viewers and the spirit of the iconic competition.

OMEGA has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932, and therefore has a first-hand understanding of the passion, excellence and cultural impact that is ingrained in the famous event. To mark the occasion this year in Tokyo, the Swiss brand wonderfully brought those values to life in the new commercial, which is still gaining in views every day.

The enduring message of OMEGA’s Olympic Games role is “Recording Olympic Dreams” – a concept that perfectly captures the brand’s responsibility for bringing precise timekeeping to the greatest moments of athletic achievement.OMEGA’s Olympic Games Ad Reaches 50 Million Views

For OMEGA, the Official Timekeeper role is the ultimate balance between technical innovation as well as emotion. This “double-sided” theme of diversity is also true of other aspects at the Olympic Games, such as the blend of different cultures, or the meeting between heritage and modern performance.

For its latest commercials, OMEGA has highlighted that contrasting spirit by showing dynamic sporting action alongside the accuracy of its watchmaking, as well as the beauty of Japan. Each scene is superbly composed and seamlessly split to celebrate the unique essence of this summer’s competition.

Filmed entirely by OMEGA, the campaign was shot on location in Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Yuyatsui, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka and Itoshima. Some shots were also recorded in Miami, USA, as OMEGA worked closely with a number of prominent Olympians, including US sprinter Noah Lyles, Irish golfer Rory McIlroy, South African Swimmer Chad le Clos, Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, and Switzerland’s own track and field star, Léa Sprunger.

Set to the music of Dreams, by Imagine Dragons, the finished commercials are powerful and inspiring, and are sure to stir the hearts of sports fans as this long-awaited edition of the Olympic Games begins.
